Unfortunately at the time of writing this over 25,000 dogs are lost or stolen in the UK each year. Among these dogs are a small group of Pugs. These little joyful creatures are our babies and their theft should be taken seriously, please take a few minutes to sign the goverment pertition (link above).
There are a number of things we can do to help keep our little Pugs safe:-
- Never leave your Pug unattended in a car or even in your own garden or yard. unbelievable theft from our own property seems to be the most common way that these dogs are lost.
- Never leave your Pug in the care of a stranger.
- Make sure your Pug is chipped and registered.
- Don't let your Pug off lead if you are not sure of their recall skill.

| If you are looking to adopt a Pug be sure to ask the right questions and check they have the correct registration certificate, if you are unsure or uneasy, as difficult as it is you should walk away. It would also be wise to check the descriptions of missing Pugs on Dog Lost to check the adoption you are considering doesn't match the description of one that is missing, if it does contact Dog lost immediately.

If you have lost a Pug, by all means send us a picture and details and we will post it on our site, you can also use the lost/stolen section of our forum, You should in all cases contact Dog Lost, they have a huge network of people and are your best hope of getting your Pug back. They are a great team of people and are extremely helpfull and caring. |

Sweep, 4 years old and another pug Blackjack were taken from their garden in the LE4 Post code area on the 29th April. Both dogs are MICROCHIPPED-please look out for these 2 being offered for sale in your area.

On the 16/7/07 a litter of 4 male and 2 female pug puppies were stolen from Porthyrhyd nr Carmarthen, West Wales. They are only 4 weeks old and are fawn with black masks. As you can imagine the mother is crying out for her litter this is so cruel. Local police and crimestoppers are aware of the incident. If there is anyone out there that can help please contact Cross Hands police station on 01269 832090. If you are offered a cheap puppy with no kc papers or if you have any suspision what so ever please contact the police, these babies need their mum to survive. If any body wishes to contact the owner they can do so via Pug World.

Terry, 2 years old was Stolen from Mosterton,West Dorset on 11th March. Fawn with black mask. MICROCHIPPED. Photo is of a similar dog. Terry was found holed up in an old mobile home owners sister's 2 dogs parked them selves outside the door so she opened it to find Terry-no worse the wear for having spent 8 days holed up in there.

Alfie went missing during a walk in Porth Kerry Park,Barry,Vale of Glamorgan on the 3rd November. Tagged and MICROCHIPPED. Alfie is HOME found on the same night in the woods not far from where he went missing. Family and friends searched the area and found him stranded on a little bank in a stream. Owner would like to pass on their sincere thanks and hope others are as lucky as them in finding their missing dogs.........

Frank (9 months) ran off from Regents Park area on the 1st October and was sited several times in the area. Frank is MICROCHIPPED and is the pet of a special needs child who missed him hugely. Luckily frank was handed in to battersea dogs home where he was scanned and reunited with his family.
